I confess that I immediately got scared beacause the first image that came into my mind were those white crochet collars that used to come in antique dolls clothes and cartoons clothes. Therefore, in this post I decided to show how the trend can be well accepted by all styles, even rocker (yeah!). And I bet that, if people adopt this collar, the trend wouldn't leave the scenery so quickly because collars are typical of winter, making justice to my surprise of knowing it was released as a summer trend (God knows why...).
A collar necklace made with chains: An altenative for those who don't want to bet all. Also works for rocker and basic styles. |
I looked around and realized that this collar isn't recent as a trend, we're just waiting the boom fashion just like happened whith the gladiator sandals, sequined clothes and half foot heels. The novelty is using removable collars (as Miu Miu already shown here, here and here, driving fashion people to the madness), which can show variations and you can even make one at home by yourself (take a look in the photo's sequence to learn how to make a perl collar)
The Peter Pan collar, created in the 1920s. |
How to make your own collar, using felt, beads, tape, pliers and glue. All these materials can be found easily in dry goods stores. |
Remember only that, when using a Peter Pan collar, you shouldn't wear necklaces because you put too much information in the look. Avoiding delicated prints is good as well because the collar itself isquite romantic and femimine.
Besides the recent removable collars there are the embedded, which ones get an extra shine in luxury versions, with crystals and platelets applications.
But the traditional ones also get a free pass:
Enjoy the trend!
